If you are successful in getting accepted on to a Platform2 trip, you'll be given a login and password to sign in to the My Platform2 section of the site. In this section, you'll be able to find out information about your trip such as flight times and health advice as well as lots of other info about the country you'll be travelling to.

You need to go through a number of steps both before and after you are accepted onto the Platform2 programme.

These are straightforward and designed to make sure that Platform2 is the right programme for you.

The whole selection and placement process can take between three and six months.

So, for example, if you apply in May and are successful, you can expect to travel somewhere between August and November. You can apply as early as you like for future trips.

To complete the application process, we will need:

- Your completed application form;

- A photocopy of your passport (if you don't have a passport, please send us a copy of your birth certificate instead);

- References from two people who have known you in a professional capacity (i.e. a teacher, line manager, sports coach, social worker, etc) for one year or more (the reference request sheets are attached to the application form).

We need to have your completed application, passport or birth certificate copy and at least one of your references before considering you for an interview.

If you're having problems downloading the overview and application form, we can e-mail them to you.

4/Are you currently a resident in UK?

5/Are you available for a 10 week unaccompanied and uninterrupted overseas experience?

6/Are you prepared to follow our programme’s health advice and requirements?

7/Are you willing and able to provide two written references?

8/Are you willing to attend a one day pre-departure briefing and a three day residential workshop after you have returned?
