Wow!!
I can´t believe I´ve been here only 5days...It feels like FOREVER. Not in a bad way but just feel like i´m a world away from home.

My group is really nice & its surprising how well we all get on after only knowing each other for a few days.

I don´t know what I expected to find when I got to Peru but what I have seen so far was totally not on my trail thought. For a start I packed all the wrong clothes!! Hehe... I´ve been living in the same jeans since day 2 and have already bought an extra blanket for my bed cos it is mucho freeo.... VERY COLD!!!

After 3 nights in a a hostel in Lima, we all met our families yesterday and will be staying with them in Pachacutec for the next 9.5weeks. I´m staying with Senora Upiachihuay and her family who are 4 generations of females!! And my roomie Hannah who has been giving me too much jokes!!!!

Its humbling to see the basic provisions that these people live with... My image of South America is beautiful beaches, Fiesta fiesta & SUN... When in fact the reality here is not anywhere near that.

Under a foggy grey sky, I had my 1st bucket wash today in a makeshift box in the garden of our humble abode staring at the walls which are lined with pampers lino signage (amongst others) to keep the wind out. The walls inside do not meet the ceiling or each other but there is somehow a warm feeling in the house.

We are trying hard to communicate with our family who do not speak a word of English but we´re getting there... with the help of my handy AA phrase book!! Thanks mum!! Can´t wait for the spanish lessons which start on Wednesday.

We start our building training tomorrow which should be fun...  Will keep you updated as best I can.
