A DAY AT No.10

Platform2 returnee Nana Panti- Amoa was selected to take part in a Global Youth Committee and spoke to Gordon Brown about the key global issues that are important to young people. Here is Nana's account of the day -

On July 22nd  a group of young people from across Great Britain were selected to interview the former Prime Minister, Mr Gordon Brown, as part of Bebo’s Big Think Project. The group discussed several issues with the PM ranging from crime, global issues,to the voting age and ways to engage young people more actively in politics.

The day began with breakfast at 10 Downing Street, after which we were then led into the Cabinet Office. The PM, then walked in, greeted and spoke with each one of us individually. I then commenced the debate with a question on education.

My opinion of Mr Brown changed. I found him to be a very humble and friendly person; not at all how the media portrays him. He was very easy to talk to and responded to our questions with detailed and insightful responses. This day really gave us, as young people, an opportunity to voice and express our opinions and concerns; giving input into the way we would like to see our nation run!
