Emma's final update from Peru

Hum well...what can I say? I am coming to the end of my adventure and I would have to say it has been a proper mix of emotions some of the good some of them bad. We were told that it was going to be like this but it is only when you are on the ground that you appreciate it.

In a way being here has been a lot like home except I have tried proper hard to be part of the culture and learn something about myself but just like 'real' life there are times when you just need to relax and appreciate what you have. Sometimes the best things can happen when you are not even trying at all, so I have learnt this and it is a good lesson to learn.

I will not let myself get in the way of the time I have left because I know that by the time I get back I will want to leave again - it will be nice to see friends and family - but I don't really crave to be back at all. Manc is like a comfy pair socks - old and a bit smelly.

I keep thinking about what I am going to do when I get back - scared of what the future holds - I think a lot of other people are too because people are applying for jobs and sending cvs. (???!!!) I have had the odd browse on the internet at stuff I'd like to do but I have decided that it is stuff I can deal with when I get back. It is not like we can go to any interviews whilst we are in Peru.

This weekend we are having a going away party and a talents night - I am not sure why but I have agreed to do a traditional Peruvian dance, costume n'all with another girl called Becky. Hopefully other people will do stuff too because if it is just me and Becky on the bill I might literally break my leg. Just kidding. But I will need some pisco. pint of.

We are flying back on the 28th. Get to london on the 29th. Hopefully see some of you soon.

All my love,

em xx
