Before going to the hospital with Vinod, our project manager, I made some flash cards to help the children learn vowel sounds. We set off in a taxi at 11.
At the hospital a man, who turned out to be a doctor, was assessing my hand before I’d even sat down. Within ten minutes I was having an x-ray. As it happens I have multiple fractures in my hand and I’m not sure as to how they arrived there. Maybe jujitsu? Maybe digging? Who knows. Amazingly, we arrived back at 12.45. The taxi ride was about 15-20 minutes each way and they’d plaster-casted my arm so I was pretty impressed.
That afternoon Katy (who'd slept most of the day and was feeling less sick now) and I ventured to the rocky riverbed outside the house. On our ascent back to the top we stopped at a small but deeper river to cool our feet. It was too enticing and soon we were lying fully clothed and fully submerged. It was so lush, and cool and refreshing.
