Project work update in Peru

I am still a bit homesick I think - but I am doing good. got five days off and I am going on a train ride to a place called Huanayco, it is a train that goes over the Andes and is the highest in S.America so I can't wait.

Work at the house is going well and we just finished laying down the floor for a new bathroom and bedroom - the guys I am working with are really cool and we have been given the chance to work on a new project away from the school. I think I prefer working in smaller groups because it is easier to get things done. Also, at the house we get to listen to Bob Marley, sit in wheel barrows and have crisps and pop given to us at 11 o clock each day. brilliant.

The sun here is still shining but it is starting to get a little colder at night, by the time we leave in May, winter will be starting to set in.

My mum is a knitting maniac and she has knitted me and two other volunteers scarves and matching hats. she knitted mine in a rather fetching shade of green and I will be wearing it with pride when I get back, but not in June. That would be silly. Everyone here is so sweet and friendly and despite the gossiping it is a good place to live... they don't need to watch the crappy soaps on tv when they have all the drama they need on their doorstep.

And, in other news I may be getting a little bit fat, they feed me potatoes everyday- I am defo signing up for the gym when i get back!

ciao for now,
love em xx
