Needless to say, getting off the plane was a relief. However, we were soon confronted with the notion that we were to be spending the next 8 hours on a bus. This wasn't the best news in the world, but you've got to take it as it comes I guess! As it was, I preferred that to the plane. Plus it gave us a good look at the surrounding are, and a quick introduction to the Indian way of driving. Basically, there are no rules. Except for using your horn. Horns are the only means of traffic control in most areas. If you are overtaking someone, and it doesn't matter when or from which side, you honk your horn... a lot. At first I just thought everyone had road rage but after some time you realise what it's really about.
Our first stop was in Agra at a very nice hotel. We had our first proper Indian meal and I adored it. That night I got quite emotional as I felt the hollow inside my chest. But the morning came and we got our wake up call at about 6.00 in order to get ready for the day's outing.
