Hey peoples, I have just got back from a weekend in Lima - this has been the first time that we have been given a full weekend off and time to do stuff outside of Las Flores.

I am loving peru and the majority of the people are warm and friendly. There is, unfortunately, a lot of poverty as well and desperate people do desperate things and most Peruvians even though they don't have a lot, care about each other and most of them are very angry when tourists are a target for crime because it makes them look bad.

This week is santa semana in Peru they are mostly god fearing folk so they take this time of year very seriously, they get a four day national holiday and there is fish for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Not that I am complaining because mama juana is a great cook and I always eat up what I am given. There was a dude dressed up as jesus carrying a massive crucifix up the hill on friday with a load of people following behind- my first reaction was to laugh because it really did look like something from the life of Brian. There is a production of Jesus Christ Superstar going on down the road as well!

Back in Las Flores and struggling with a slow internet connection... feel that I might be gettin a bit grumpy so it is off to bed with me soon.... Had two hours sleep last night and I have a hard days levelling to look forward tommorow.
